News: Senators Sign Anderson To Three-Year Extension
  • Ottawa Senators: The Senators have signed Craig Anderson to a three-year contract extension worth $12.6 million, a $4.2 million salary cap hit.

    Anderson will make $4.75 million in both 2015-16 and 2016-17 and $3.1 million in 2017-18.

    In 158 career games with the Senators, Anderson has posted a 81-52-17 record with a 2.62 GAA.

The 33-year old goaltender was originally drafted by the Flames 77th overall in the 3rd round of the 1999 draft. He didn’t sign with them and re-entered the draft where he was selected 73rd overall in the 3rd round of the 2001 draft by the Blackhawks.

Anderson is entering the final year of a four year contract that paid him $12.75 million, a $3,187,500 salary cap hit.

Earlier this offseason the Senators signed 23-year old Robin Lehner to a three-year, $6.675 million contract, a $2.225 million salary cap hit.

The Senators now have $47,757,500 in salary, $45,356,667 in cap payroll committed to 16 players.
