Ducks put two goalies on the IR

NHL.com: The Anaheim Ducks have put goaltender John Gibson on the IR with head, back and neck issues.

“You saw the hit,” Ducks coach and general manager Bob Murray said. “He got whacked a whole bunch of times on one play. He’s just not right anywhere up there. He’s a little better today. He’s been in. He has a little bit of an appetite now.”

Ryan Miller returned and backed up Kevin Boyle.

Chad Johnson was put on the IR after being hit with the puck during practice.

“He got a good one yesterday,” Murray said. “Couldn’t sleep. He had a headache.”

Richardson and Kempe game-time decisions

Dave Vest: Arizona Coyotes coach Rick Tocchet said that Brad Richardson and Mario Kempe will be game-time decisions tonight.

Catherine Silverman: Forward Christian Dvorak is still listed as “day-to-day” and could go on a conditioning stint when his ready.

Karlsson skates for first time since the break

Kevin Kurz: Reports that San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer called Erik Karlsson‘s injury a groin strain while on the radio yesterday morning.

Kevin Kurz: Yesterday was the first time Karlsson has been back on the ice since the break. He wouldn’t commit to playing tonight or not.

Curtis Pashelka: Karlsson said that while the team was on their road trip, he didn’t skate at all.
