Aleksander Barkov could be back tonight, and Dougie Hamilton has surgery
Elliotte Friedman: Florida Panthers coach Paul Maurice said that he is “optimistic” that forward Aleksander Barkov will be able to play in Game 4 on Wednesday.
David R: Maurice was on WQAM radio and was asked for an update on Barkov.
“We don’t think its anything too sinister, so he will come in and get worked on real hard today and worked on real hard tomorrow. We will have a better idea after we see him today where he’s at, but I would say I’m more on the optimistic side right now”
James Nichols: New Jersey Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton had surgery on his right wrist.
Hamilton’s agent said that he will be ready for the start of next season.
Back to the KHL for Vitali Kravtsov
Patrick Johnston: Vancouver Canucks RFA forward Vitali Kravtsov signed a two-year deal in the KHL.
Rick Dhaliwal: Kravtsov’s salary will be close to $500,000 for each season and with bonuses could be closer to $1 million.
Satiar Shah: “Kravtsov looked like a player 1-2 years away from making an impact in the league IF he was willing to put the work in & take tough love. We’ll see if he tries to give the NHL a go again in 2 years.”

Kyle Dubas: “While I understand there is interest surrounding the circumstances of my departure. I will not get into the specifics of what I consider to be reasonable and consistent but private discussions. In the day that I felt I needed to assess and evaluate my own view to the future, both respect to the necessary direction of the Club and ensuring that I had the full support of my family for what I knew would be required in the offseason and years to follow, the organization, as is their right to do, decided to go in a different direction.
In the nine seasons since being afforded the opportunity to work in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs, we have had the chance to learn a lot and have grown significantly through the ups and downs. We have watched our family double in size while developing meaningful relationships which will last a lifetime. It was an honour to be able to work in such an inspiring place, with dedicated, loyal people and an extremely passionate fan base. THe impact of that and the relationships with all of the people at MLSE, from the board of directors through to the ushers at Scotiabank Arena, will forever hold a dear place in our hearts. To the players, coaches and staff at the facility each day, past and present, thank you for your passion and commitment at every step of the journey together. It was a tremendous pleasure to work alongside you each day. We will roll from here.
