On the Chicago Blackhawks …

Chris Hine: Both Jan Rutta and Cody Franson are hopeful that they can return on Thursday against the Stars.

On the Dallas Stars …

Mark Stepneski: Defenseman Marc Methot (knee) practiced yesterday but coach Ken Hitchcock said that Methot is not close to returning.

Methot was expected to be out for four to six weeks – it’s just over four weeks now.

On the Los Angeles Kings …

Jon Rosen of the LA Kings Insider: Defenseman Christian Folin left last night’s game with an upper-body injury.

“He had an upper-body injury there that he couldn’t continue, and we’ll get him reevaluated when we get home,” John Stevens said. When asked about the severity of the injury, John Stevens said that he had “no idea.” “I just knew he couldn’t continue,” he said.

On the Vancouver Canucks …

Ben Kuzma: Canucks GM Jim Benning after getting the results from Brock Boeser‘s CAT scan: “It’s more of a bone bruise and more day-to-day than week-to-week for his return. It’s a relief. We can’t afford to lose a player like that.”

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Steve Carp: The Golden Knights put defenseman Luca Sbisa on the IR and recalled Tomas Hyka from the AHL.

NHL injury summary through 16 December.
