Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports: Arizona Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun had knee surgery after an injury during a training session this week. He will be out indefinitely.
The Coyotes didn’t give a timeline for rehab or say what the injury was.

Florida Panthers: The Panthers signed defenseman MacKenzie Weegar to a one-year, two-way deal.
On the St. Louis Blues …
Andy Strickland: The Blues signed defenseman Nate Prosser to a two-year deal that pays him $650,000 in the NHL and $400,000 in the AHL.
On the Vegas Golden Knights …
Steve Carp: The Vegas Golden Knights and Nate Schmidt went through salary arbitration yesterday after the sides were unable to reach an agreement before.
Steve Carp: They still have time to reach a deal before the arbitrator announces his decision.
Steve Carp: Schmidt was the only player out of the 30 players who filed that actually went through arbitration.
SinBin.vegas: Vadim Shipachyov requested to go with North American spelling of his name and will go by Vadim Shipachev. He is also expected to wear No. 87 this season.

On the Philadelphia Flyers …
Dave Isaac of the Courier Post: The Philadelphia Flyers signed two 2017 draft picks to three-year entry-level deals yesterday – first round pick Morgan Frost and second rounder Isaac Ratcliffe.
The Flyers selected Frost at No. 27 and his deal carries a $925,000 cap hit plus bonuses.
Ratcliff’s deal carries a salaries $725,000, $750,000 and $775,000 and has bonuses in his deal for games played.
“Looking down the Flyers lineup right now they’re a smaller team,” Ratcliffe said at development camp last month. “They don’t have too many guys that are those big power forwards. In the next few years I think I’m gonna be a player that’s going to be in there to bring that to the table and bring that side of the game to it.”
