“In a way, I definitely wanted to get it done before the season started,” Manson said. “I know it was something the Ducks had mentioned they wanted to do as well. Try to kind of get it all sorted out before the season got going.

“It is a little bit of a relief to have it done with and now I can focus a little bit more on the team and the season going forward here.”

The Ducks put Patrick Eaves and Ryan Miller on the IR. Eaves has been out with a lower-body injury. Miller has been out since September 25th with an upper-body injury.

Ryan Getzlaf has a lower-body injury and is questionable for their season opener tonight.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Derek Willis: Jaromir Jagr will likely practice with the Flames today. It’s not known yet when he’ll make his debut.
