NHL Rumors: Columbus Blue Jackets – Panarin, Bobrovsky, Defense, Dzingel and Brassard
Seems unlikely the Columbus Blue Jackets will move Sergei Bobrovsky. Looking to add a defenseman.
Blue Jackets still looking to improve and listening on Panarin

John Shannon: Still sounding like Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to improve their roster. They are listening on Artemi Panarin, looking for immediate and future assets.

Alison Lukan: Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen said that they’ve had “plenty” of trade offers for Panarin but none of them have made sense for them yet.

Bobrovsky likely staying

John Shannon: With the way the Sergei Bobrovsky has been playing of late, it’s seems likely that the Blue Jackets won’t be moving him.

Looking for a defenseman

Michael Arace: Believe the Blue Jackets are looking for defenseman, and might be checking in on Derick Brassard. Trading Panarin seems unlikely.

Brian Hedger: (on Arace tweet) “Agree with all of this. Totally understand it’s Panarin’s right to test free agency, but if he misses out on what could be a fun run here in Columbus, that would be a little sad. It’s clear that he enjoys this team and likes his teammates. Could be over soon, though.”

Brian Hedger: GM Kekalainen on if he’s looking for a defenseman because of Ryan Murray‘s indefinite injury

“We’re going to look at every option to make our team stronger until tomorrow at 3 o’clock.”

Possibilities of re-signing Dzingel

Jeff Svoboda: Kekalainen on the possibility of re-signing Ryan Dzingel: “He is definitely one of those players that we have identified as a candidate to stay here into the future. We did not just acquire him to be a rental.”

Dzingel on the possibility of re-signing: “There’s a very high chance of that if they want me.”

Brian Hedger: Kekalainen on Dzingel: “We did not just acquire him to be a rental. Obviously, he has that right July 1 to become a UFA, and again, we realize the risk that could happen, but as goes for all of our UFAs, we’d like to keep our pending UFAs.”
