NHL Rumors: Kings, Avs, Jets, Flames and Maple Leafs
PA Parenteau of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tyson Barrie of the Colorado Avalanche
On the Los Angeles Kings …

Dennis Bernstein: The two additional years at $6 million a season that Milan Lucic is looking for is not a small gap. The Kings have to watch their spending as Tyler Toffoli will also need a new deal soon.

Dennis Bernstein: Don’t think the Kings have the assets to trade for Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba. They don’t have a comparable defenseman to send back.

On the Colorado Avalanche …

Aivis Kalnins: Hearing that multiple teams in Switzerland have interest in Reto Berra, with Lugano the favorite.

On Tyson Barrie  …

Matthew Coller of ESPN: Five teams who should be interested in trading for Tyson Barrie – Red Wings, Sabres, Rangers, Maple Leafs and Oilers.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Gary Lawless: Lawless expects the Jets will select Patrick Laine at No. 2, but don’t rule out Jesse Puljajarvi.

On the Calgary Flames …

Adam Kimelman: The Flames are looking for a goalie, but not sure if Marc-Andre Fleury alone would be enough to get a first round pick.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Luke Fox of Sportsnet: P.A. Parenteau may be the only unrestricted free agent that the Toronto Maple Leafs are seriously considering re-signing. Preliminary talks have started.

“There have been a couple of discussions. Very preliminary. I would say every possibility is on the table,” Partenteau’s agent, Allan Walsh, told Sportsnet. “They have not closed the door to him coming back, but I don’t think it’s a decision that’s going to be made now. I think it’s a decision that’s going to be made just before we get to July 1.”

Walsh when asked if Parenteau is looking for a multi-year contract.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate to answer that question,” Walsh said. “We’ll come to a point where if there is a mutual interest, hopefully both sides can work something out.”

Damien Cox: The chances are remote that the Maple Leafs re-sign PA Parenteau, but it’s not impossible.

Aivis Kalnins: T.J. Brennan has received a one-year offer worth $1.5 million from a team in the KHL. The deal hasn’t been signed, but reports are that it’s close (as of June 6th). There is more than one team interested in signing him, and he has other European options. Not sure if there is any significant interest from an AHL team. It is thought that he’d prefer to remain in North America.
