NHL Trade: Sharks Trade Defenseman Mirco Mueller To The Devils
San Jose Sharks trade Mirco Mueller to the New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils acquired defenseman Mirco Mueller and a 2017 5th round pick (No. 143) from the San Jose Sharks for a 2017 2nd (No. 49 – previously acquired from Boston) and 4th (No.  123 – previously from Nashville) round picks.

Mueller as drafted 18th overall in the 2013 draft by San Jose Sharks.

Kevin Kurz: “Sharks have now traded their first round picks from the 2013 and 2014 drafts (Goldobin and Mueller) in the span of a few months”

Kevin Kurz: ‘Bottom line on Mueller: was passed over by other defensive prospects, but was also grossly mishandled by Sharks in his rookie year here”

Kevin Kurz: “Should also be pointed out that Mueller was/is eligible to be selected by Vegas. Probably a long shot to get chosen, but still.”

Curtis Pashelka: “Mueller is an RFA and it was gonna be tough for him to crack lineup in fall. Plus ‘Cuda have Heed, DeSimone, Simek, Ryan, Bergman”
