Teams interested in trading for Bobrovsky

Chris Johnston of Sportsnet: Nick Kypreos reported on ‘Headlines’ that there are some teams who are interested in trading for Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky.

Bobrovsky is believed to be looking for Carey Price money ($10.5 million per) and is not willing to discuss a contract extension with the Blue Jackets at this time. Bobrovsky has a full no-movement clause.

Six Western Conference teams that could use some added scoring

Luke Fox of Sportsnet: IF the Toronto Maple Leafs decide they are going to look at trading William Nylander, there are six Western Conference teams that may be looking to add some scoring. Also included are some possible defensive targets for the Leafs. Fox is just “spit-balling” here.

1. Arizona: Niklas Hjalmarsson, Jason Demers, Jakob Chychrun
2. Minnesota: Matt Dumba, Jared Spurgeon
3. Anaheim: Josh Manson, Brandon Montour
4. Edmonton: Darnell Nurse
5. Vancouver: Chris Tanev, Alex Edler
6. St. Louis: Colton Parayko

Flyers would carry three goaltenders if need be

Dave Isaac of the Courier Post: The Philadelphia Flyers have been dealing with some injuries so far season – forwards Nolan Patrick, James van Riemsdyk, and Corban Knight, as well as goaltender Michal Neuvirth.

Soon those players will be healthy enough to return and the Flyers then find themselves in a bit of numbers crunch, especially in net.

Brian Elliott is the starter and they claimed Calvin Pickard off waivers from the Maple Leafs. Luckily for them, the salary cap ceiling is not an issue.

“We’ll have to deal with that at the time,” Hextall said when asked if he intends on carrying three goalies on his roster. “It’s not an ideal situation, but if that’s what’s right for our hockey club, that’s what we’ll do. All these injuries, we have a roster issue. Thankfully we don’t have a (salary) cap issue. We’ll deal with it at the time and see what information comes to us between now and then and make a decision.”
