NHL Trade: Islanders Acquire The Rights To Dan Boyle
  • Arthur Staple: The New York Islanders acquired the rights to pending unrestricted free agent Dan Boyle for a conditional 2015 5th round pick. If Boyle signs with the Islanders, the Sharks will receive a 2015 4th round pick.

Before trade happened:

  • Bruce Garrioch: The Lightning are thinking about acquiring the rights to Dan Boyle.
  • Joe Smith: Dan Boyle’s agent, George Bazos, said that Boyle plans on testing the open market, but is open to heading back to Tampa Bay: “I know he loves it down there.”

The 37-year old defenseman is coming a deal in which he had a $6,666,667 salary cap hit.

Do you think Boyle will sign with the Islanders?
