Kevin McGran via twitter: The NHL said no to the NHLPA request for a ‘no-strings attached’ meeting.  Chris Johnston via twitter: The NHLPA wanted to “bridge the gap” but the NHL was only interested if they had a new offer or were ready to bargain of the NHL’s latest proposal.

    1. Individual contracts have to be honored

    2. Deal has to end with a true 50-50 split

    3. Players need to win on vast majority of secondary issues

    4. Stop trying to win public relations war

    5. The stars must be stars

    6. Players need to embrace practicality instead of principle

    7. Owners must accept this isn’t 2004-05

    8. Stop playing serve-and-volley on proposals

    9. Outside pressures needed

    10. View a lost season as Armageddon
