  • George Richards via twitter: The Panthers have suspended defenseman Erik Gudbranson until he’s cleared to play, and not just practice. He could start the season with San Antonio in the AHL.
  • Tim Wharnsby via twitter: The Predators claimed Rich Clune from the Kings. The Islanders claimed Thomas Hickey from the Kings.
  • Josh Yohe via twitter: Looking like Eric Tangradi and Beau Bennett are in competition to be on a line with Evgeni Malkin. Both will be playing with him tomorrow during their scrimmage.
  • Sportscenter via twitter: (via @TSNRyanRishaug) Jordan Eberle will become an assistant captain in Edmonton. Taylor Hall and Nick Schultz will rotate A’s and Shawn Horcoff will remain as captain. Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney lost their A’s.

  • NY Islanders via twitter: The Islanders suspend Josh Bailey and Jesse Joensuu for getting injured while playing overseas. Their suspensions will be lifted when they pass their physicals.
