Sabres and Rodrigues having a hearing today

WGR 550: The Buffalo Sabres and Evan Rodrigues have an arbitration hearing set for this morning. The Sabres come in a $1.5 million and Rodrigues is looking for $2.65 million.

Devils re-sign Mueller

New Jersey Devils: The Devils have signed defenseman Mirco Mueller to a one-year deal at $1.4 million.

Amanda Stein: Mueller and the Devils had an arbitration hearing set for July 28th.

Penguins re-sign Aston-Reese

Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins have signed forward Zach Aston-Reese to a two-year, one-way contract with an AAV of $1 million.

“Zach is a responsible player who plays a solid two-way game,” said general manager Jim Rutherford. “He has a heavy style of play that is especially effective on the forecheck and penalty kill.”

Maple Leafs still haven’t announced Wilson deal

Terry Koshan: No official announcement from the Toronto Maple Leafs yet, but confirmed the report that they’ve signed Garrett Wilson. Have been told it’s a one-year deal at just above $700,000 and that “It’s been done for a while.”

Bruins sign Shen

Cap Friendly: The Boston Bruins have signed 2018 7th round pick Pavel Shen to a three-year entry-level contract after having his MHL contract terminated.

Shen will have an $809,167 cap hit and a $925,000 AAV.

Flames getting a new arena

Wes Gilbertson: Calgary Sports & Entertainment and the City of Calgary have agreed on a $550 million downtown arena project and the sides will split the costs. The city would own the facility.
