Quick rumor hits on: Staal, Nash, Senators, Sharks, Hurricanes, Blue Jackets #2 pick, Maple Leafs, and Price
  • Bob McKenzie via twitter: Hearing Penguins Jordan Staal turned down 10 year mega offer from the Penguins. Staal has indicated to the Penguins that he doesn’t plan on signing an extension now.
  • Nick Kypreos via twitter: Senators names being speculated in a potential Rick Nash deal: Robin Lehner, Mika Zibanejad and a 1st round pick.
  • Nick Kypreos via twitter: Sharks names being speculated in a potential Rick Nash deal: Ryane Clowe, Joe Pavelski, Jason Demers, and a 1st round pick.
  • Dan Rosen via twitter: Blue Jackets GM Scott Howson said he’s not getting the offers he likes for Nash. Topic of Nash staying with the Blue Jackets didn’t come up in his discussions with his agent. Something has to give with Nash and Howson. Howson has to lower his demands (he shouldn’t) or convince Nash that things will change with the Blue Jackets.
  • Chip Alexander via twitter: Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said that there are a lot of teams looking to make deals. Added, that teams are asking them about Faulk, Sutter and Skinner.
  • Aaron Portzline via twitter: The Blue Jackets are considering at least 1 offer that would have them trading down from the #2 spot. Cody Nickolet via twitter: Sounds like Blue Jackets are interested in trading down. Would expect the Maple Leafs are a team wanting to move up.
  • Todd Cordell via twitter: Darren Dreger believes the Maple Leafs have “considerable interest” in Bobby Ryan and James van Riemsdyk.
  • Cody Nickolet via twitter: Maple Leafs assistant GM Dave Nonis said that they haven’t had serious talks about trades and are not close on that front. Things should pick up in the next 12 hours.
  • Marc Antoine Godin via twitter: “Source tells me the 40 M figure suggested by Sportsnet in regards to a Habs offer to Price is incorrect. But hey, as long as they talk…”
