NHL Rumors: Jets, Sens, Kings, Canucks and Stars
Jacob Trouba playing against the Los Angeles Kings
  • Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe: Jacob Trouba’s asking price will likely start at Dougie Hamilton’s six-year, $34.5 million. The Jets could end up having just under $19 million for three right handed defensemen. The Jets could look to trade Tobias Enstrom to free up some money, or they could trade Trouba. looking for a Ryan Johansen type return. Andrew Ladd will be moved.

Senators GM Bryan Murray is still looking to make some moves and could use an upgrade on the left side. They haven’t been able to replace Clarke MacArthur’s (concussion) production.
Would be in the best interest of the Hurricanes if they acquired some more draft picks and/or prospects for pending UFA Eric Staal.

Oilers Teddy Purcell would look good on the Bruins right wing, but they may be better served to avoid the rental market.

The Kings are still looking for help on the blueline. They don’t really want to trade prospect Andrian Kempe in a rental deal.

  • TSN: Trade Bait List
    1. Jonathan Drouin
    2. Loui Eriksson
    3. Andrew Ladd
    4. Dan Hamhuis
    5. Eric Staal
    6. Mikkel Boedker
    7. Travis Hamonic
    8. Kris Russell
    9. Justin Schultz
    10. Roman Polak
  • Dennis Bernstein: (answering twitter question) The Kings could use a 4th or 5th round pick for Maple Leafs defenseman Roman Polak. To acquire Jiri Hudler it would cost a roster player/prospect.
  • Dennis Bernstein: (twitter question) Andrei Markov’s cap hit wouldn’t fit in with the Kings and they would have to send back more than his value to have the Canadiens retain some salary.
  • Dennis Bernstein: The best rental option for the Kings is probably Dan Hamhuis – if he’d waive his no-trade clause.
  • Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province: some trade deadline predictions.
    • Dan Hamhuis to the Penguins – other possible destinations include the Flyers, Islanders, Capitals, and Dallas.
    • Canucks don’t trade Radim Vrbata – a second round pick for Vrbata may be worth it, but anything less isn’t. The Panthers could be a possible landing spot if they move him.
    • Maybe the Capitals would be interested in a player like Brandon Prust.
    • The Canucks aren’t able to find a taker for Chris Higgins and his $2.5 million cap hit next season.
  • Hockey Buzz: The Kings and Stars are still interested in Keith Yandle. The Stars may turn to Roman Polak if the cost for Yandle is too high. The Panthers have the most interest in Mikkel Boedker.
