Scouts watching Flyers … Cap going up for now … No waivers for Radulov approved … Ante upped for Jokinen … Wings out
  • Elliotte Friedman of CBC: 43 Blue Jackets fans took advantage of the Jackets “free switch” from Jeff Carter jersey name plate to Jack Johnson. Many scouts will be watching the Flyers as they have pending UFAs Matt Carle, Nicklas Grossman and Pavel Kubina. Alexander Radulov is on the Predators reserve list, which is why he would be eligible for the playoffs. Before the new CBA, the salary cap will be around $69 million, and up to $72 million if the NHLPA decides to escalate it.
  • Renaud Lavoie via twitter: The NHL and NHLPA did a deal yesterday that Alexander Radulov won’t have to go through waivers if he decides to come back this season.
  • Eric Francis of the Calgary Sun: Flames center Olli Jokinen wants to remain in Calgary, and he could be the top free agent center on the market. Recent deals for Tuomo Ruuttu ($4.75 million cap hit), Ales Hemsky ($5 million cap hit) and Mikhail Grabovski ($5.5 million cap hit) have upped the ante for him. Jokinen is 33 years old and may be looking to cash in with a long-term deal.
  • Detroit Red Wings via twitter: According to Red Wings coach Mike Babcock, Nicklas Lidstrom, Todd Bertuzzi and Pavel Datsyuk will miss tonight’s game in Los Angeles.
  • Harvey Fialkov via twitter: Panthers forward Kris Versteeg won’t play tonight. He won’t return until he gets in one rigorous practice, which might be Wednesday, and then play on Thursday.
