Sharks trade Douglas Murray to the Penguins

The San Jose Sharks have traded defenseman Douglas Murray to the Pittsburgh Penguins for 2013 and 2014 second round draft picks. The second pick in 2014 based on the Penguins winning two playoff rounds or the Penguins re-signing him. If neither occurs, it’s a third round pick in 2014.

The 33-year Murray will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He carries a $2.5 million salary cap hit this season.

He was drafted by the Sharks in 1999, 241st overall in the 8th round.
