- Bob McKenzie via twitter: All the players who were put on waivers yesterday have cleared. The Toronto Maple Leafs have put Matt Lashoff on waivers today. The Florida Panthers have put Nathan Paetsch on waivers today.
- Nick Kypreos via twitter: The Vancouver Canucks have traded Darcy Hordichuk to the Florida Panthers for Andrew Peters.
- Daniel Tolensky via twitter: The New York Islanders 23-man roster totals just $30.5 milion in salary. Injured players add another $5.6 million, buyouts $6 million, and bonuses $6.775 million.
- Ryan Rishaug via twitter: The Edmonton Oilers won’t be able to trade Sheldon Souray for a roster play unless they send someone down first that doesn’t need to pass through waivers. Likely Souray is going to the AHL. Other option on the trade front is if they trade for a roster player, is to put someone on IR.
- Frank Seravalli via twitter: Philadelphia Flyers forward Ian Laperriere could miss the entire year with post-concussion symptoms. Doctors are having hard time determining whether an eye injury or a brain injury are causing the symptoms.
