The Minnesota Wild have signed defenseman Jared Spurgeon to a four-year, $20.75 million contract extension.
Spurgeon was drafted 156th overall in the sixth round of the 2008 draft by the New York Islanders.
Hockey’s Cap: Spurgeon cap hit for the next four years will be $5.187 million and carries a modified no-trade clause in the final three years of the deal.
He’ll make $4.5 million next season, and then three years at $5.5 million.
The 26-year old, 5′ 9″ defenseman was in the final year of a three-year, $8 million deal.
